Because the Enchanted Jukebox has been so much a part of our world, when someone does a clever take on lyrics, we know it.
Okay, let’s start with… “sounds familiar??”
Yup! The Smiths!
The Song? “How Soon Is Now?”
The Album? “Meat is Murder”
And if you Google the song, you’ll get the Wikipedia link-splanation as the song, “How Soon Is Now?” was added to the original Meat is Murder American LP as the first song on side 2. You’ll also find out the song is listed on the vinyl label, but it is not listed on the track listing on the inner or outer sleeve.
However, as a driver of an ’02 Jeep Wrangler with a built-in cassette player, I was motivated AND located shots of Side Two listing the song (see above napkin).
