Two days later, everyone is buzzing about Johan Santana’s no-hitter. It was the first in the Mets 50 plus years of existence. I followed the game’s progress on Twitter while BARTing back from San Francisco. Today, I decided to do a Google search to see if I can find some video to post.
Lots of potential, right.
Then this message.
The MLB Advanced Media police want to force you to go through their gateway. Why?? Looks like they want us to view annoying commercials. My first visit I saw something about the “Pursuit of Excellence” for Lexus I believe (I was so annoyed I tuned it out). The next time, it was Michelin Tires. Guys, really??
If you try to click to make the ad stop, you end up at a dedicated landing page.
Not bueno. I’ve been there twice. Don’t need tires. Guess that’ll throw off the stats a bit.
Come for the video, Stay for the T-Shirt…
So here’s the MLB link. Now watch your screen closely. See it?
Yup… That would be a shameless promotion for an exclusive “No Han” t-shirt care of your friends at MLB.
For $24.95, you can commemorate this momentous occasion. Shipping is $2.95 for ground.
They also try to upset you on “FREE 2-Day Shipping” but that means you have to join ShopRunner which is very Amazon “Prime-like.”
But I’m digressing.
