RC the STORYTELLER is moving towards the YAKITORI MOBILE where CHEF is firing one stick after another — a nice FLO — as folks politely accept their GIFT and then step aside to munch away.
Out of the corner of his eye, RC sees KIMBA (Happy Barista / Uber Driver) with a takeout carton nicely wrapped. He makes a beeline towards her.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Taking yours To Go? Thought you were off tonight…
He points to the phone in her hand. Kimba smiles.
KIMBA
BRB… Just need to make a delivery.
RC gives her the raised eyebrow.
KIMBA
Come on, now. I’ve been raving about the YAKITORI to KATIE and she always seems to miss out. Anyway, since GEAR GUY has made an appearance, thought I’d surprise them with …
She had been talking to RC while walking backwards and then, on cue, bumps right into GEAR GUY.
GEAR GUY
Whoa!
KATIE

RC THE STORYTELLER
Now how’s THAT for TIMING?
KIMBA
Perfect. Maybe… First round’ll be on him…
She hands Katie the TAKE OUT and points to an open spot (wooden picnic table).
KIMBA
You and RC settle in, I’ll get GEAR GUY to flex his wallet– FEEL GUDs all around!

EXT. WESTSIDE BREW PUB
They are at a picnic table within view of the screen where the CHICKEN HAWK cartoon is looping WITHOUT sound.
KATIE
So, my Storyteller Pal, did it work?

And golfing FINALLY with GEAR GUY?
Just then he arrives with Kimba. They distribute the pints, toast and he then answers…

KATIE

Except… SHE was getting hungry… pulling her shots to the left is a giveaway that I need to get her to food.
KATIE
We both smelled… Well we didn’t know exactly what we were smelling as we drove by… just that…

She was doing that RUMBLY thing…
KATIE
