It’s time for another @TheSEA session, and as folks arrive, they are hearing “ROCKETEER” from the BOOMBOX.

There’s a world out there that we should see
Take my hand

With you right here, I’m a rocketeer

Where we stop? Nobody knows (knows)…
The music fades and RC THE STORYTELLER steps up.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Ah! We meet again! Thanks for coming.
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
No cartoons this time?
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Shhh!!
RC shakes his head.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Shifting gears… Gotta get ya acquainted with THE WORLD OF JOY— because that’s where the real story plays out.
AUDIENCE MEMBER 1
Real Story?
RC THE STORYTELLER
The one MR SQUEEK –AKA DOORKAT SQUEEK– is on about.
AUDIENCE MEMBER 2
AKA The BREAKDANCIN’ KAT ON FAIR…
RC THE STORYTELLER
Yup! That too. Anyway… Shifting from ALLIES to garnering a sense of PLACE as… THE WORLD OF JOY … IS SPECIAL.
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Ah!
Sketching World of Joy…
What the…? Seriously??
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
What the…? Seriously??
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Settle down!!
RC smiles and nods to the audience.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Help IS appreciated… Now then… What this is showing is a really fast sketch that was done after the WORLD OF JOY flyover.
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Ah!
RC THE STORYTELLER
And I’m JUST showing it so you get a sense… There’s a lot going on IN… That WORLD OF JOY.

He scans the audience and then continues.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Let’s dive right in…
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. SOMEWHERE OVER THE ‘HOOD OF JOY
[Narration provided by RC to set up the action]
RC THE STORYTELLER
As agreed upon, two of the JEDEMI CAFE residents, DOSSIE & FRANNIE (and the guardians of former suit, KATIE), take to the sky with MR SQUEEK, the DoorKat for an aerial view of THE WORLD OF JOY. This is where the story takes place that Mr Squeek wants Katie to draw.
The pilot providing transportation for this day’s adventure goes by the name of ZUP-RY …ZUP [sounds like loop with a z], for short.
As they start circling the ‘HOOD OF JOY, Mr Squeek slips into tour guide mode…
MR SQUEEK
Could you bank to the left ZUP-ER-MAN? (pause) Yes, that’s perfect.
The ladies are hanging on as he works through the maneuvers.
DOSSIE
Down there. Is that it?
Tree-lined streets are below. They can see people walking about and hanging out on the stoops of pleasant looking houses.
FRANNIE
Love the stoops! So inviting!
MR SQUEEK
Okay, Zup, please just dip… don’t land.
ZupRy the Pilot guides them closer to one of the houses and Mr Squeek smiles.
FRANNIE
Whatcha…?
MR SQUEEK
Hang on ladies… Okay! Now, Zup Now!
With a woosh, they accelerate and dip… moving quickly towards a shape that the ladies can’t quite figure out. Probably because they are now hanging on for dear life.
As they get closer, there’s a barking sound.
DOSSIE
Is that…?
MR SQUEEK
Yo, Double-G… Double-G!!
Mr Squeek is greeting the dog with a laugh. And the dog is racing back and forth in his yard wagging his tail.
FRANNIE
What a happy puppy!
DOSSIE
Seems to actually enjoy that you’re buzzing him… Not terrified in the least. What gives?
MR SQUEEK
That’s my pal. You may have seen him at Jedemi. Anyway, right now he’s in ‘do again’ mode. Zup… what do you think? Should we…?
FRANNIE
Uh… How ‘bout at the end of our…
DOSSIE
Tour. Just a reminder — That is what this is… right, Mr Squeek?
MR SQUEEK
Tour? Of course that’s the plan.
FRANNIE
So we’re here to feel the Joy?
DOSSIE
And understand the context… background for whatever stories are being told…
MR SQUEEK
Yes and Yes! When we get back I’ll lay out what’s pinging around in my head.
They hang on as, with a swoosh, as Zup the Pilot flies them gently around a corner.
MR SQUEEK
Take a look… See the walking people?
DOSSIE
Quite a few actually.
FRANNIE
And many happy puppies too! Puppies with their human companions.
MR SQUEEK
This, ladies, IS the World of Joy from… whatever number of feet we are… not important, really. Just picture it and if you can, let the feel of it sink in.
DOSSIE
Gotcha!
FRANNIE
It… has… something… can’t quite place… but yeah… Gotcha as well.
And with that, Zup the Pilot accelerates — banking a u-turn and they glide off towards the mountains back to Jedemi.
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. JEDEMI CAFE – FRANNIE’S CHALKBOARD CORNER
Frannie has lightly sketched what she observed — also referencing Dossie’s notes taken in flight.
Mr Squeek watches her and comments.
MR SQUEEK
Now that’s helpful… Visualizing the … Yeah. I like it.
DOSSIE
So now are you going to enlighten us? We got the feel but…
FRANNIE
What’s the story…
Mr Squeek is looking down and shuffling his feet. There’s a long silence which Dossie breaks up with a quip.
DOSSIE
Oh Dear! Cat got your tongue??
Cat got your tongue??
Silence and then they all belly-laugh.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. WESTSIDE BREW PUB
Breaking in, RC remarks…
RC THE STORYTELLER
I think you guys should know by now that… THAT phrase is a No-No around our SQUEEK.

AUDIENCE MEMBER 1
Did he go ballistic then? Like that “cut off your …head” scene in “Kill Bill”?
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Gasp!
AUDIENCE MEMBER 2
So… How bad was it?
RC THE STORYTELLER
Actually, not bad at all as he was so pre-occupied with his ASK, he didn’t hear it.
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Ah!
RC THE STORYTELLER
Let’s get back to it…
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. JEDEMI CAFE
Back up to the overhead vantage point.
FRANNIE
Good one!
As the laughing subsides, Mr Squeek speaks up.
MR SQUEEK
True confession time, ladies as… I don’t exactly know the Story of Joy. I know of it, but not it exactly…
I don’t exactly know the Story of Joy. I know of IT, but NOT IT… exactly…
Another long silence as the ladies digest what he just said.
DOSSIE
Ah … Okay, got it, Mr Squeek. No worries. How can WE help?
FRANNIE
So, is there a “keeper” of the Story of Joy? Someone WE should be working with…?
MR SQUEEK
Great question. Double-G the Happy Puppy … He knows…
FRANNIE
Knows… The story?
DOSSIE
Or the Keeper of the Story?
MR SQUEEK
Well… Could be… both. Hard for me to tell. It’s just… I recently became aware of… a DING!Thing component to the story. And I seem to recall Double-G being very tuned into it… literally…
DING!Thing…
FRANNIE
Literally??
MR SQUEEK
Something like… ASTRO BOY EARs.
DOSSIE
Ah… starting to get a picture. You personally know…’er… feel something special is going on… in The World of Joy…
FRANNIE
The ‘Hood of Joy we just flew over… A story to be told and…
MR SQUEEK
And… True confession time. Initially, I leveraged the Joy thing… to see if I could help your LADY KATIE, get off the mark, so to speak. She seemed… heck, she WAS stuck there staring at her SLABBY thing…

FRANNIE
We saw that…
DOSSIE
So it’s a Two birds with one stone… as DING!THING really does need more “play” so to speak AND LADY KATIE needs un-sticking. Makes sense…
FRANNIE
How do we fit into all this, Mr Squeek?
MR SQUEEK
First of all… I’m proposing a HANDOFF… Taking myself out of the picture… out of the loop.
They both study him closely to ascertain his intentions. He feels it, and continues.
MR SQUEEK
She trusts you guys. There’s a history and all… Maybe to get some traction… some momentum, she could use more nudging from you both.
Silence as the ladies ponder.
DOSSIE
Okay… just so we’re not stepping on your toes.
FRANNIE
Or tail (laughs)…
DOSSIE
What’s YOUR role then?
MR SQUEEK
Call of the Wild…
FRANNIE
Jack London?
He gives them a look and then continues.
MR SQUEEK
Ladies… I gotta take a break from this fine establishment here at JEDEMI, and hit the … road… trail… open seas… hashtag whateves, ya know?
DOSSIE
Okay… You talkin… local or like full on Yukon Jack?
MR SQUEEK
I’ve been prodded by … that Happy Puppy Double-G to get a move on. Said “A Wanderer gotta Wander…”
A Wanderer gotta Wander…
FRANNIE
Gotcha… DoorKat… lucrative, yes…
DOSSIE
But a wee bit too static for ya. For sure, WE get it.
There’s another pause as Dossie and Frannie think through the project…
DOSSIE
Good call! We’ll do it, right Frannie?
FRANNIE
Sure! It’ll be fun… Gets us moving too!
DOSSIE
We’ll suss out the story AND play with ways to tell it.
And with that, a look of relief crosses Mr Squeek’s face.
MR SQUEEK
Cool beans!
DOSSIE
We gotcha! … Safe travels, Mr Squeek!
FRANNIE
Yeah! Check in will ya?
He’s shaking his head.
MR SQUEEK
Come on, now… Not leaving just yet… Just… planning ahead, that’s all — which is sort of counter-intuitive for me as wanderer… but this project is … I don’t know… just feels like it has to happen some way… some how — with AND without me, got it?
DOSSIE
Definitely…
FRANNIE
Got it, Mr Squeek.
MR SQUEEK
Oh… and in the spirit of planning ahead, Frannie could you please do one of your nifty signs for my spot up front?
FRANNIE
Copy that!
MR SQUEEK
Great! Speaking of spot… Me gotta go. Cash money to be had…
Mr Squeek takes off.
DOSSIE
Let’s keep our eye out for that Happy Puppy, Double-G.
