And so it was that RC the GREMLIN / RC the STORYTELLER bounded over to the WESTSIDE CAT&CLOUD eager to show his pal, Happy Barista / Uber Driver KIMBA the magnificent magnet.

His enthusiasm was un-containable! And rightly so as far as we’re concerned. Let’s listen in to find out WHAT. HAPPENED. NEXT… –The Gang.

EXT. THE STREETS OF THE WESTSIDE
RC THE STORYTELLER
Magnificent! That’s it… Mag-NET-fa-cent… Made it up… Works, I think and…
RC has taken to side streets… many of the places he frequents with his buddy, WONDER / WANDER (WANDER /WONDER) Kat MR SQUEEK.
RC THE STORYTELLER
I wonder where he is… Would love to show him. Maybe… I’ll look around a bit…
Checks his RAZR phone.
RC THE STORYTELLER
No answer back. Not surprised. Probably has his tucked into his PAK. Not like he was expecting me to ping out of the blue.
Thinking of PAK, he ‘pats’ his to make sure he indeed has brought along a sizable number of MAG-NET-FI-CENT “YOSH!!WESTSIDE” magnets.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Not dreaming. Cool. Wonder if I should…? (Pause) Sure! Why not?
He makes a beeline for the WESTSIDE BERDELS.
Westside edition…
RC THE STORYTELLER
On consignment… Maybe… Just a thought. Getting ahead of myself. I can… do “in the wild” shots… make like they are available…
While crossing the street, RC shape-shifts to his natural persona: RC the GREMLIN.
RC THE GREMLIN
Now I’m ready… had to get into character**.
He laughs.
[** means mischievous shenanigans are on tap.]
RC enters and the clerk behind the counter acknowledges him with a cheery “Welcome” before re-engaging with her mobile phone.
RC THE GREMLIN
She won’t notice. Good! I’ll scout us a good spot to…
He sees a carousel of pins.
RC THE GREMLIN
Ah! Didn’t know… I wonder if…?
Reaching into his SATCHEL PAK, he feels around for a small pouch and a smile crosses his face.
RC THE GREMLIN
Sure! Why not?
He adds two of the YOSH!!WESTSIDE pins to the display.

RC THE GREMLIN
Looks… natural!
After taking some snaps with his RAZR phone, he keeps exploring.
RC THE GREMLIN
Metal. Metal. Metal. Metal… Where to…? Aha! Now how to… (pause) Got it.
RC moves to the opposite side of the store where piles of hoodies are stacked.
RC THE GREMLIN
Got to…
He proceeds to mess up the display.
RC THE GREMLIN
Wrong size… Ah… still wrong…
Turning towards the register, he calls out.
RC THE GREMLIN
A little help… Some help please!
Looking up, the clerk sees his mess and makes her way over.
BERDELS CLERK
Looking for… a particular size? For you? A gift…?
What the clerk doesn’t know is that RC has done his RECON and knows what size is missing.
RC THE GREMLIN
Sorry for the mess. I’m looking for that in … a SMALL. I see MEDIUM and LARGE… could you check… in the back?
BERDELS CLERK
I’m pretty sure we’re out of SMALLs…
RC THE GREMLIN
Please… Pretty please…
He turns on the charm and she nods.
BERDELS CLERK
Fine. I’ll look. And you are deputized… Anyone come in, just smile and greet, okay?
RC THE GREMLIN
Gotcha! Thanks so much!
BERDELS CLERK
Of course!
She heads off and RC shakes his head.
RC THE GREMLIN
When did “of course” become a proper response?
Quickly, he makes his way to the register and places several YOSH!!WESTSIDE magnets on it.
RC THE GREMLIN
Perfect! Looks natural too!
From different angles, he takes pictures.
RC THE GREMLIN
Bountiful! And then…
He removes all but one.
RC THE GREMLIN
Scarcity! Now you see ‘em. Now you don’t…
Hearing some rustling, he quickly returns to the HOODIE DISPLAY and makes himself busy refolding.
RC THE GREMLIN
Hey there! Am I doing it right?
The clerk laughs.
BERDELS CLERK
Don’t quit your day job… Anyway, no luck with the SMALL. Maybe downtown has it. Want me to call?
RC THE GREMLIN
Nah… I was really just interested in supporting businesses on the WESTSIDE.
RC starts making his way towards the door.
BERDELS CLERK
Come see us again. Bring your friends. The more the merrier!
RC THE GREMLIN
Will do!
Then thinking to himself as he bounds down the street…
…She’s about to get MORE MERRIER…
RC THE GREMLIN
She’s about to get MORE MERRIER…
Aha! Wonder if…?
But at the DELAWARE cross street, a DING!Happens. RC makes a left turn and wanders through the parking lot of what looks like industrial when he sees it…
RC THE GREMLIN
I had a feeling it was around here. The problem with FOLLOWING er… trying to keep up with Mr Squeek is that you lose your bearings… But here it is… Home of the best scones on the WESTSIDE!
Yummy scones…
Looking in the window, he can see the display case if full.
RC THE GREMLIN
That’s promising… I can do another test run AND grab some treats for KIMBA.
He steps to the side, where IVETA has its “pantry-like” items: Jams & Spreads, Huge selection of Iveta Scone Mixes…

He muses.

I’d be ALL-IN on the LEMON GINGER scone mix. Just need a baking day at…
Shakes head.

Hold that thought… We just had a discussion… Me and the GEAR GUY husband on how a RE-DIRECT needs to happen… That Lady Katie has been kinda spiraling — the workshop he had gifted her… well… is it too harsh to say “un-intended consequences” ?
…Goal was enlightenment and confidence-building… stepping outside of the ZOJIRUSHI bread making zone to true hands on. A noble … okay ambitious quest. But even he couldn’t have anticipated the spiraling…
An intervention? Guess it had to happen even … indirectly as the INNER OFFICE ENVELOPE has been filled with KATIE’S handiwork… her scribbles. Tossed into the truck for their ADVENTURE… And maybe… also the MAG-NET-ficent YOSH!!WESTSIDE will find their way into the capable hands and brain of Suit-in-Transition MEREDITH.
