As soon as we heard the news that Tiger Woods had mentioned he was aiming to play in three tournaments before the year was out, we felt it was just a matter of time before the ticket promotion folks kicked into gear.
This just appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle Sporting Green (front page).
Note: One week ago, the trending story was Phil Mickelson telling ESPN.com that he’d like to be grouped with Tiger Woods during the PGA Tour’s 2016-17 season-opening event — The Safeway Open in Napa, California.
Phil pretty much was the headliner up to the point when Tiger communicated that he “hoped” to compete in the event, his first since August 2015.
And if he bails…
As we see it (AWSI) — Buyer beware.
