Origins of Jedemi – The Timeline

A huge part of the Jedemi project was the timeline I put together in Excel.  I was working off a hunch that these “spirits from the past” knew each other and/or were exposed to similar influencers.

How they relate in time.

How they relate in time.

So here are a few snapshots from that huge spreadsheet I put together.

The beginning... in 1887.

The beginning... in 1887.

Around World War I.

Around World War I.

The early 30s.

The early 30s.

Around World War II.

Around World War II.

Not only was this helpful by providing me with a historical perspective, but it also showed how old they were when certain achievements were attained.

For example, I discovered that Joseph Campbell (AKA Joey) was 45 years old when “Hero with a Thousand Faces” was published. Frank Capra (AKA Frankie) was 42 when “Mr Smith Goes to Washington” was released.  And Antoine de Saint Exupery (AKA StX) was 39 when “Wind, Sand & Stars” was published.  Frances Marion (AKA Frannie) was 42 when she won an Oscar for “Big House” (1930).  Dorothy Sayers (AKA Dossie) was 48 when “Mind of the Maker” was published.

That was significant to me because I realized that they all did a lot of living, exploring, discovering over many, many years.  Having started this project in my early 30s, I found this inspirational.
