It seems like it was just yesterday that Pets.com amused us with their sock puppet spokesdog. Though absolutely hilarious, Pets.com ended up folding during the dot com bust.
That’s why it is especially curious that Ford recently introduced their new spokesperson, a hand puppet named Doug.
Doug plays a big role in the social media programs tied to the 2012 Focus. He apparently made his debut during a faux press conference, which took place on the Facebook page of John, a fictive Ford marketer. Apparently there are a whole slate of social media activities lined up for Ford’s orange friend.
One thing you can say for sure, he does get your attention. But will he move cars?
