A Certain SHAPESHIFTING pal of former Suit, Ms KATIE, just so happens to be occupying her kitchen this early morning — having taken over her SLABBY THING (AKA iPAD) AND her usual seat.
What could RC THE GREMLIN / RC THE STORYTELLER be up to? Let’s listen in to find out WHAT. HAPPENED. NEXT.

INT. KATIE’S KITCHEN
It’s early in the morning and as Ms KATIE, the former Suit is waking up, her kitchen is already occupied by her pal, the SHAPESHIFTING RC [AKA RC THE GREMLIN / RC THE STORYTELLER].
He seems to be working away scribbling notes and has Katie’s SLABBY THING open where he’s viewing a cartoon.
Katie notices the kitchen light is ON, so she moves alertly and then smiles.
KATIE INTERNAL
Ah! Interesting! He’s on a roll… Very focused… Wonder what he’s…?
Determined not to disrupt her pal, she does her best to quietly move through her morning routine. Yet, she’s curious, so from a distance, she peeks at the screen to get a sense of what RC’s viewing and… noting the frequent pauses he’s taking.
Reaching into the cabinet, Katie sees there’s no more ground coffee in her container.
KATIE INTERNAL
Oh well… I was gonna interrupt him at some point. Might as well be with fresh beans. He’ll dig it.
Even then, Katie moves gingerly around the kitchen setting up the burr grinder to do its thing.
KATIE
Sorry, Buddy!
And with that — she grinds away. And RC finally breaks out of his trance, and stretches.
Fresh coffee? For me? Aww… You shouldn’t have…
RC THE GREMLIN
Fresh coffee? For me? Aww… You shouldn’t have…
KATIE
What I shouldn’t have… was disrupted your FLO, Buddy. Sorry ’bout it.
RC THE GREMLIN
No worries…
She presses the start button on her coffee maker and then faces her buddy.
KATIE
Comin’ right up!
RC THE GREMLIN
Cool beans!
KATIE
Indeed! So… uh… Which RC … ARE You presently?
RC THE STORYTELLER
The hijacker of your SLABBY THING…?? Definitely The GREMLIN, but now… with the aroma of fresh coffee brewing and clearly being in the position to ‘splain myself, I’m your @TheSEA Storyteller RC.
KATIE
Gotcha… So from the looks of it, I’d say you hooked into something … am I right?
RC THE GREMLIN
Interesting choice of words… no doubt because your GEAR GUY husband has made an appearance… er, re-appearance, eh?
Katie nods and smiles.
KATIE
Golf later I believe. He owes me a round…
RC THE GREMLIN
Or two or three…
Katie shoots him a look that says “settle down” and he does.
KATIE
K… so circling back to the SLABBY THING your INNER GREMLIN commandeered… Looking/not-Looking, I thought… Cartoons??
RC THE STORYTELLER
Yes… and…
KATIE
And next SESSION you’re showing cartoons?!
RC THE STORYTELLER
Well… Not exactly… just leveraging a particular one to get folks mentally ready for… WHAT…
He motions to her like he does with the audience @TheSEA –prompting them to say in UNISON…
KATIE
WHAT. HAPPENS. NEXT.
He’s smiling. She’s laughing… and then presses on.
KATIE
Okay… So… You’re still focusing on the adventures of our WONDER KAT “slash” WANDER KAT, right?
RC THE STORYTELLER
Yes, AND… The leap into THE WORLD OF JOY… The story of FINN-FINN… AND… putting it in context.
KATIE
Right… Which is where I come in… indirectly, of course, yes??
RC THE STORYTELLER
HAPPY PUPPY KEE-RA too! He seems dialed into the DING!THING… With your skills… weaving in …
KATIE
Adding more layers… a multi-layered story is in the works!
RC THE STORYTELLER
For the @TheSEA guys… Gotta SEE what resonates, ya know?
The coffee is now ready and Katie has poured out two cups (served in the BENNINGTON TRIGGER MUGs). RC takes a sip and smiles, raising his cup.
Trigger Mug…
RC THE STORYTELLER
Breaking out the good stuff for me?
KATIE
Uh… That’s the usual blend, my friend.
RC THE STORYTELLER
The TRIGGER MUG, Silly… A first time for me. Gotta good feel to it.
Katie smiles and joins him at the table.
KATIE
Speaking of “good feel” — Show me whatcha got there… I can be the guinea pig for your audience…
RC looks at the KITCHEN CLOCK.
Katie’s Kitchen Clock…
RC THE STORYTELLER
You sure? I’m already mucking with your morning routine… I should… (pause) should just go, eh?
KATIE
Ya, no… Can’t un-ring the bell, Buddy. Ya got me curious AND the FLEX-N-FLO me says this is priority today… At least, this very AM… So please to fire away!
RC is playing with the iPAD as he’s talking.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Okay… so while I was trotting around the WESTSIDE and through TOWN, I couldn’t shake a vision my eyes… something I saw clearly which seemed related to…
He slides the SLABBY THING towards Katie.
She smiles as she sees who’s on the screen.
Henery The Chicken Hawk
KATIE
OMG! It’s the cute little Chicken Hawk! One of my favorites… so tenacious… determined …
RC THE STORYTELLER
Right? Okay… So what I’m going to do right now is give you … an orientation… and then take off for a bit — get some fresh air, ok??
KATIE
Sure… Go for it.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Borrowing your SLABBY THING, I poked around until I found the story that kept playing through in my mind’s eye —
He hits PLAY and then PAUSE.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Do you remember… the one where the little Chicken Hawk is trying to capture that BIG loudmouth…
KATIE
CHICKEN! Foghorn Leghorn! Great name…
RC THE STORYTELLER
Right? I just remembered… how the little guy goes through a series of… activities… a sort of friendly re-cip-prO-city…
He’s struggling with the pronunciation, but Katie nods.
Challenging to pronounce…
KATIE
Reciprocity! Right! … The bone. The fish. The cheese… A cooperative effort!
RC THE STORYTELLER
Perfect stopping point, I believe. Please to enjoy at your leisure…
He smiles and lifts his coffee cup, nodding her direction.
RC THE STORYTELLER
And… Thanks for sharing!!
And with that RC takes off.
