It’s the following week and the anticipation is high @TheSEA.
Following the sound of the song that ended last session, the gatherers @TheSEA assembled quickly at RC THE STORYTELLER’s usual spot. They are talking among themselves… joyfully as they’ve had a week to imagine WHAT. HAPPENED. NEXT.
The time has come… RC arrives. The group quiets down.
FADE IN:
EXT. WESTSIDE BREW PUB
With a huge smile on his face, RC begins.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Tough week, eh?
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Yeah!
RC THE STORYTELLER
Let’s begin then, shall we?
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Yeah!
He bends his ear a bit to listen. There’s a puzzled look on his face as he scans the crowd.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Something’s not right… Where’s the SHADOWS GUY?
The gatherers look around. There’s some murmuring and then a commotion at the entrance.
In walks KIMBA the HAPPY BARISTA/UBER DRIVER. She’s carrying a PINT in one hand and clearing a path with the other.
Right behind her is someone on crutches.
KIMBA THE DRIVER
Sorry, Guys! We’ll get settled quickly. Sorry for the hold up.
RC looks closer and smiles.
RC THE STORYTELLER
Ah! One mystery solved.
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
Would you believe…? Uh… hit a pothole and oh snap my lower leg.
He points to Kimba.
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
Uber Kimba got me here… Now, thanks for waiting. LET’S GO!!
RC nods.
A slide appears projected on the SCREEN. Lights are dimmed and RC uses the controller in his hand to ZOOM-IN on areas as he talks.
World of Joy (Before)…
RC THE STORYTELLER
This is… like a BEFORE picture of the neighborhood of JOY…
He points to the top right.

See the NIWASHI’s house… Now glance down to … Yup, as mentioned, HAPPY PUPPY KEE-RA and his human live here… in the WORLD OF JOY.
Now some music comes up as he speaks. WALKING ON SUNSHINE…

Also in this WORLD OF JOY are neighbors that actually… talk to each other… like daily… while out on walks or doing errands… They enjoy their encounters…
In fact, there’s a gentleman that takes the time to pet the puppies as they cross his path — a genuine connection is made, says Kee-Ra.
RC now points to the upper left.

More neighbors… Another dog… Family members passing on … CIRCLE OF LIFE… lonely neighbor… ready for…

Amazing, right? The author of this very story, MRS POLLARD, the wife of the PUPPY PETTER… had several DING! moments… Her friend, CHERYL mentioned she was ready to welcome another lovable creature into her world… AND…
RC points to the PUPPY PETTER.

On a walk, the Pollards had encountered a sad NIWASHI who explained her situation while HOUDINI HOUND was getting his belly rubbed.
RC THE STORYTELLER
It was MRS POLLARD who… got the ball rolling…
Since the neighbor JOY is someone who knows everyone, the question was asked. Messages / calls made and…
DING!! HAPPENED!!
RC THE STORYTELLER
Right? And as they say in the tales of yore… They lived HAPPILY ever after… with a slight adjustment…
Indeed!!
RC THE STORYTELLER
HOUDINI no longer as… well this Happy Hound has a permanent HOME… so rightfully, he gained a NAME to go along with his new surroundings: FINN-FINN.
AUDIENCE IN UNISON
Ah!!!
RC THE STORYTELLER
It’s a tribute to his human’s prior furry companion.
Clapping begins and continues for some time. Members of the group are excitedly hugging each other and fist-bumping and…
At this point the BOOMBOX JUKEBOX starts up.
Plus, CHURROS magically appear – this time without BLACKING OUT the BREW PUB.
Heart-Shaped Churro…
And it segues to ALL NIGHT LONG… as they PARTY. FIESTA…
RC steps aside and let’s LIONEL RICHIE take over. He makes his way to where the LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS is sitting…

He struggles to his feet.
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
THANK YOU!! This was… truly amazing… you did…
He can’t put into words his feelings. They share a toast and RC moves on as others are dragging him away. That’s when he raises his voice to get RC’s attention.

Yo! RC!
RC turns around.
LISTENER IN THE SHADOWS
WHAT. HAPPENS. NEXT…?
The music drowns out his response…
…THE JOY! THE JOY of the DING!THING… rings and resonates… ALL NIGHT LONG!
So as the evening wound down, and folks started shuffling out they encounter one more TREAT…
Near the door there is a box that’s been tipped over to show its contents: MRS. POLLARD’S ORIGINAL FINN-FINN short story
In no time, all the copies disappear as the gatherers distribute them amongst themselves. Smiles all around, too!
