AWSI Musings: Fanatic Followers Flock to Freezer Aisle for Flavorful Halo Top…

We introduced the “SNapkin” concept in this post. Here’s another to peruse and ponder.  Enjoy!—The Gang


We all scream for ice scream… But not any ol’ frozen confection. What we read in AdAge got us curious (of course) to try out the low-calorie, protein-packed Halo Top which apparently is in such high demand that it is selling out in some stores, “even with relatively high prices and, for now, limited marketing.”


AWSI, the flavors are key.  On our “must try” list are:

  • chocolate mocha chip
  • chocolate almond crunch
  • oatmeal cookie

We might also check out so popular vanilla bean just because we can (but only if the price is right).  This seems like “craft” ice cream to us.  The fact that they garnered a huge following using an innovative, cost-efficient approach is quite impressive.  But those things need to go hand-in-hand:  great product and great approach to building a fan base.

We hope they “stay frosty” — and continue to be creative with their outreach like GEICO.


And The Enchanted Jukebox Sez…

Well, our Jukebox is intrigued by a series of Android “Together Not the Same” ads that have fun music and are really creative. Seems like an interesting way to connect with potential customers without slamming them with speeds & feeds product messaging. They are selling “cool.”
