The predawn hours of the New Year had Mr Pete’s restless soul on a quest. Hopping online, what he found was… Let’s just say it truly resonated and prompted this very WowMe. Enjoy! — editor
In the predawn hours of the New Year my restless soul emerged from fractured sleep hungrily with a desire to challenge or at least change my destiny.
Seeking refuge in the “word soup” of the Internet, I stumbled upon a remarkable story in my Facebook feed.
Astonished!!
Fueled by faith, seasoned with a dash of courage, using their soul(s) as a compass for their heart(s) they walked (and walked and walked).
A Dog too…?
Furthering my astonishment, was seeing that these monks were accompanied by… a dog (AKA ALOKA the Peace Dog).
:
Aloka, the Peace Dog, has quite the following on Facebook, giving us another “perspective” on this Peaceful Journey.
Per one of the media stories:
The monks and Aloka have been walking across the United States, with their route spanning approximately 2,300 miles across 10 states. The journey is expected to take 120 days and is a testament to the power of unity and compassion. Aloka’s presence has not only brought joy to the monks but also a dedicated online following, with daily photos and updates shared by the group…
I looked at my Lily and smiled. She won’t even walk downstairs.
But circling back to these dedicated to Peace walking Monks and their four-legged companion, what impressed me is how welcomed they’ve been throughout their journey — in person and on Social.
And me, being the music guy I am, it struck me like a V-8… the inspirational song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” fits perfectly!
Right? Scroll up and down a few times and let those lyrics sink in.
Then experience this powerful performance by the Dropkick Murphys – You’ll never walk alone
This one is audio only…
Right?
This is where my editor would say “Pencil’s Down!”
But you know, she asked me something and it is worth sharing…
Thanks for reading & listening. —Mr Pete
Bonus…
Many covers of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” have been made. The OG? Rogers and Hammerstein from the musical “Carousel.”
By all means, take the journey — to experience the original along with links / a Spotify playlist of covers.
Talk about resonating!! –Mr Pete.
