Welcome to another Yosh! post!
A continuation of concepts from Yosh! 05 and Yosh! 03 which emphasized the “wRite Thing,” we’ve got another ponderable for your consideration. Read on!! —The Gang
Note: We introduced “Yosh” in the post.
The Japanese word “Yosh” is used in manga to convey, “Alright, let’s go!” Or as they say in Katie’s household: “Go means go!”
Above is a short clip that says what we’re saying (and demonstrating): For sure, “yosh” is spontaneous and energetic—a verbal burst of enthusiasm or resolve. We believe if you embrace the DragonBustR Way and it becomes a Way of Life (interwoven), you may find yourself bursting with enthusiasm and resolve.
Now on with the story!
And so it was that one day, on their CREEKSIDE TRAIL excursion, Happy Puppy KEE-RA had something on his mind which was noticed by his trail trotting pal, former Suit KATIE.
Let’s LISTEN IN to find out WHAT. HAPPENED. NEXT.
FADE IN:
EXT. CREEKSIDE TRAIL
It is a beautiful day on the trail near JEDEMI CAFE where Katie and the Happy Puppy are stretching their legs -taking in what nature had to offer.
KATIE INTERNAL
Okay… He seems all bouncy and happy like he always is on this trail… especially this part… but my “SPIDEY” sense says… Something’s up.
They bounce along some more and pitter-patter up the ROCKY HILL.
KEE-RA
Whoa! That’s like… Maybe the first time you got to the top before me…
KATIE
Really?
KEE-RA
Well come to think of it…
They reverse direction as they head back towards Jedemi.
KATIE
We tie mostly except the very beginning… when I didn’t have my GRIPPER FEETS on.
KEE-RA
Ah… Right…
KATIE
And like today, I figured you let me quote-unquote “win”… a feel good maneuver of some sort.
KEE-RA
Who me?
Seeing Kee-Ra veering off-trail, she glides over to one side to gently steer him back.
KATIE
Now that is… definitely out of character for you. You know that’s the evil POISON OAK zone.
KEE-RA
Whoops!!
It’s silent for only a few more paces, when Katie decides to engage.
KATIE
Okay, buddy… Out with it. You are acting like… DISTRACTED… Not in a DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE distracted… but like you are trying to work through something and … it’s got you…
KEE-RA
DISTRACTED… Yeah. No better word for what’s plaguing my noggin. Thought maybe just being out here in nature would help me…
RC will tell you that just recently he helped me… HEAR MY EARS… something I was working through…
KATIE
Yes, and… RC will tell you that just recently he helped me… HEAR MY EARS… something I was working through… it DID help. Reminded me of what I do at HD… listen to DOERs talk through what they are trying to accomplish…
Katie gives him the “IT’S OKAY… PLEASE TO SHARE” look which relaxes him.
KEE-RA
Okay… here goes.
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. MEREDITH’S HOUSE
Happy puppy Kee-Ra begins explaining how his human, MEREDITH (Suit in Transition) was on a great flow with the JOURNALing until something popped up during a ZOOM session.
Kee-Ra is in the room when one of the ZOOMERs mention something about re-reading the MORNING PAGES.
His ears perk up.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. CREEKSIDE TRAIL
We see Kee-Ra with the same tilted head, ears-perked look.
KEE-RA
I… You said… You wrote… that its one and done, or something like that.
Katie patiently listens.
KEE-RA
That whole BARNEY SCREAMING into the MAILBOX thing?
The Barney approach…
Smiling, Katie remarks.
KATIE
It’s done! Turn the page. Move on! Yup! That’s my … Hey… it just works… once the page was turned, whatever I ranted about was DONE!
Katie claps her hands and then spreads them wide (like she saw JAMES EARL JONES do in FIELD OF DREAMS).
KATIE
No longer an issue… Happily I moved along…
…journaling is good for … purging the badness…
KEE-RA
Gotcha… So Journaling… er MORNING MUSINGS I believe is your saying… That’s good for … purging the badness??
KATIE
Yes, and… then GOODNESS has a chance to FLOW.
KEE-RA
Of course… makes sense… But thus the dilemma…
They walk while Kee-Ra thinks out loud.
KEE-RA
You’ve been at this… MUSINGS thing for a long time, right?
KATIE
Journaling… Morning Pages kick started me and then… I had to make ‘em my own… and things evolved to MUSINGs as a RITUAL… a pre-running thing.
KEE-RA
So what…? Like twenty plus years?
KATIE
Lost track but… something like that.
KEE-RA
Don’t strain your brain but… RE-READING… Have you EVER… you know…
Katie ponders before answering…
KATIE
Not exactly… and I have a…
KEE-RA
Lots and lots stacked in clear SHOE BOXES in your office closet…
KATIE
How did you…?
KEE-RA
RC text messaged me one day…
What Kee-Ra saw…
KATIE
Wait you…?
Points to the PAK on his back.
KEE-RA
All the COOL KIDS have one…
Be like the Cool Kids…
KATIE
That would be… RC and MR SQUEEK and…
KEE-RA
Happy BARISTA / UBER DRIVER Kimba and…
He stops to the side of the trail and points to the PAK.
KEE-RA
You apparently as of … NOW. Please to reach in. Yours has the DragonBustR logo on the back…
Katie pulls out the one with the orange logo.
KATIE
Ooooh! Nice looking that logo on the RaZR…
As she’s admiring the new “TOY”, Kee-Ra has managed to send her the RC SNAPS of the JOURNALS.
KATIE
Yup… Those are THEM!
KEE-RA
When they hit the box, are they… SEALED?
KATIE
Sealed? (pause) Interesting…
She ponders.
KATIE
I save the black scrungie thingie for the WORKING JOURNAL and when I fill one, I put a RUBBER BAND around it… so that, I guess SEALS the deal, so to speak.
Sealed? Yes, and…
KEE-RA
SCRUNGIE… oh… you mean scrunchie as in hair ties. Mama has a lot of those… Now… what does NOT EXACTLY mean?
Katie rewinds her MIND before answering.
KATIE
Ah! Right and WRITE! (she laughs). So this is what I do… sometimes and it… seems to work…
KEE-RA
All ears my friend. Please to share!
KATIE
There ARE times where my FLO during my MUSINGs session is SO… good… That after the PURGE, like INCOMING!!! THOUGHTS a-flying! Capture the best I can with my PENCIL… scribbling away… drawing too… Quotes and lyrics and IDEAs just come so fast… I just…
KEE-RA
GO?
KATIE
GO! And then… If I need to remember… like for some CREATIVE I’m working on… I’ll go upstairs and grab my phone… TAKE A PICTURE of the page and either TEXT or EMAIL it to my self for … future reference.

KEE-RA
Ah! So that’s a form of ONE-AND-DONE. So those JOURNALs stacked in the CLEAR SHOE BOXES stacked in your CLOSET…?
Shakes her head.
KATIE
Yeah… I know… A lot of JOURNALS I have… there… But… I guess FUTURE REFERENCE?
Kee-Ra picks up the pace as the TRAIL-HEAD is in their sights.
KATIE INTERNAL
Maybe… I answered his question. Seems… uh… happier now.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. JEDEMI CAFE
They are now in the parking lot awaiting the arrival of Kee-Ra’s Human, MEREDITH.
Kee-Ra initiates a PAW-FIST BUMP.
KEE-RA
Very helpful… this day… this…
He points to the trail and Katie nods.
This time, she’s the one with furrowed brows.
KEE-RA
Sup with that, Ms KATIE?
KATIE
Who me? (pause) Nothing… (pause) actually a reminder of … SOMETHING… No worries. I’m good!
Kee-Ra bows and trots in the direction of his MAMA’S MOBILE as Katie looks at her watch and races to her wheels.
KATIE
Give my regards to…
KEE-RA
Will do… Drive safe, you will!
KATIE
Always!
Both vehicles pass in opposite directions. Katie waves and Kee-Ra is waving the RaZR. Katie smiles as she looks down at hers in the passenger seat.
KATIE INTERNAL
New toy! Gear Guy will be jealous!!
