Apparently, for the first time in four years, MLB at Field of Dreams is returning to the iconic Iowa ballpark inspired by the beloved 1989 film.

The Minnesota Twins take on the Philadelphia Phillies in a special regular season game, streamed live from Dyersville, Iowa exclusively on Netflix at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Point? It counts in the standings (no exhibition) and also noteworthy, an extra day was built into the schedule… It it rains, they’ll try again on Friday.

My sister pinged me the other day about the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game on August 13 which has the Phillies playing the Twins. She was curious to know if I’d be watching.
…Hosting a viewing party in the community room, I replied.
She fired back pictures of shoes from a story she saw in the Inquirer.
Capturing interest…
Pretty sure if her eyes hadn’t landed on “da shoes,” she may have circled back a day or two later AFTER the event as she’s well into a life of time-shifting her sporting events.
Okay, so let’s address the Thursday evening event that will appear on… NETFLIX ?!?
…Is it a game? A movie push? A re-imagining?
All of the above? And perhaps this NETFLIXing aims for the attention of a wider audience (like my Mom if she were still alive).
