Katie has just been dropped off by her husband, GEAR GUY who is running errands.
KATIE
Wow! I had no idea. We drive by here all the time. Thanks My Guy!
GEAR GUY
Have fun! You can tell me all about it later. Heard good things.
As he pulls away, Kimba comes bounding into the lot… on foot.
KIMBA
Hey you! Was that…?
KATIE
Off to do errands. He’ll swing by later to give me a lift home.
KIMBA
No worries. My wheels are at C&C. I can always run ya.
KATIE
I was wondering where the KIMBA-MOBILE was.
KIMBA
Gotta favourite spot in the back. Easy peasy to get in-and-out.
Katie smiles.
KATIE
Smart Sister! The parking lot… busy intersection… That’s why I got dropped off.
Kimba nods and gives her an approving “thumbs up.”
KIMBA
Curious tho… You REALY haven’t been here before?
KATIE
Right? Go fig! Been meaning to… Seen these guys at the Farmer’s Market, but the Brick & Mortar? Hours don’t map… And then again, we tend to stick to the same track so to speak.
Pauses as Kimba opens the door and ushers Katie in.
KIMBA

KATIE

Kimba leads Katie into the expansive bakery / cafe and Katie’s eye balls — adjust trying to take it all in.
KATIE

So Katie just walks around admiring the place. They had arrived mid-morning — post breakfast rush and pre-Lunch. The timing perfect as she could really take in a lot.
Sensing drinks were up, she returned to the counter to help Kimba carry their goodies.
Kimba leads her to a table outside but within eye-view of the bakeshop.
KIMBA
It is nice right now. Let’s hang here.
KATIE
Set back enough from the road… Mission seems relatively…
KIMBA
Tame? Yeah. We should be able to enjoy our treats and chat out here.
Kimba lays out the treats and produces a small knife from her SATCHEL-PAK.
KATIE

KIMBA
I like what I like… I’m sure your PAK contains a…
Katie laughs as she reaches in and shows her handy BOX CUTTER.

KATIE

Kimba is slicing up the “KOUIGN AMANN” – butter croissant dough laminated with sugar in each layer. Recommended by the helpful lady behind the counter.

Kimba, without spilling a drop, produces a… MOCHA CHAI. Actually two. Tapping cups, they sip and let the YUM wash over them.

They are quietly enjoying the “goodness” — eyes closed as to absorb without interference. Then suddenly Katie’s eyes open super wide.
KATIE
Hang on… Do you mind…?
She point to Kimba’s satchel-pak.
KATIE
Where you pulled the knife from… that orange… what is it? A pencil case? It looked like it had…
Kimba is laughing.

KIMBA

Katie has a delayed reaction to the play on words as she is very focused on what she saw.

KATIE

Now please, PLEASE indulge me…
KIMBA
Not sure how you guys pitch ideas in your world but… I just went with a hunch and created these…
She unzips the pencil case and pulls out TWO SQUARE magnets and lays them out on the table — a section cleared of food crumbs.
KATIE
Cute! StickerMule?
KIMBA
Yup!
She leans in to take a closer look while Kimba produces another similar looking magnet, but different.
KATIE
Whoa!!
KIMBA
Right?!
Whoa means WHOA!!
Then she reaches over, takes back the magnet and gently rubs it with a SCOTTS BLUE TOWEL that she had cut into strips. Handing the magnet to Katie, she makes like a magician.
KIMBA
Whoo-la! Nothing up my sleeve except…
Pulling out a SKINNY WHITE BOARD MARKER from her sleeve.
KATIE
Oh… wow!
KIMBA
There you go! You try. Go ahead!
Smiling, Katie twirls the marker in her hand and then writes the first thing that comes to mind: COOLIO! YOU MADE MY DAY!!
KATIE
Ah!
Kimba hands her the WIPIE (SCOTTS).
Katie wipes off ‘COOLIO’ and replaces with ‘WOO-HOO!’ — and then smiles.
KIMBA
Right?
KATIE
Oh… wow! You are onto something.
KIMBA
Kinda thinkin’ DUCKIN’… 3 point Oh… as in… moving it beyond… JEEPs and Cool cars like my UBER MOBILE slash HAMSTER MOBILE.
Katie stands up and does the DING!THING… Thumb top of head and pinkie stretching skyward.
DINGTHING!!
KIMBA
Uh…
Reaching over to FIST BUMP Kimba, Katie explains.
KATIE
Believe it… or not… The other day I was running through a neighborhood… and admiring the fantastic landscaping project that had just been completed at a house…
RETAINING wall and scrubs beautifully paired with flowering plants… and… it made me happy… And I’m sure the owner was happy… perhaps the end result… I don’t know… exceeded expectations … so fantastic. And it got ME wondering…
She sits back down and writes on the MAGNET: “MAKES ME HAPPY!”
Kimba gives her a thumbs up.
KIMBA
That… Works…
After they both pause to ponder and then at the same time say…
KATIE
Mailbox…
KIMBA
Mailbox… Exactly… metal…
Katie is spinning the marker some more… scanning the parking lot…
KATIE
Lots of potential I see… and also…
KIMBA
I SEE the return of GEAR GUY… We can talk more later… this week if you want.
Katie waves to her husband who motions towards the BIKE SHOP.
KIMBA
Here. Take some. Play a bit and…
KATIE
You bet! Gotta show MER… You cool with that?
KIMBA
Of course! You need a…?
She points to the MARKER in Katie’s hand.
KATIE
Oh yeah… Sorry…
Hands it back.
KATIE
Got plenty of these… well… may be dried out, but… here. You should have a COMPETE KIT ready to roll for your ADVENTURES.
Standing up to pack quickly.
KATIE
Let’s call it a WRAP! You’ve exposed me to plenty… and… I THANK YOU!
She says with a bow, followed by another FIST BUMP.
Kimba is all smiles.
KIMBA
So… SEE YA WHEN I SEE YA?
KATIE
Not if I SEE YA FIRST…
Laughing, she jogs over to join her husband at the bike shop.
Kimba makes a RAISE THE ROOF motion with her hands just as a BAKESHOP EMPLOYEE walks by.
BAKESHOP EMPLOYEE
Good, huh?
Pointing to the crumbs on the empty napkin — next to a couple of magnets.
KIMBA
You know it!
